As a Strategic Communicator, I had the privilege of supporting ActionAid International Uganda (AAIU) during the dissemination of the Country Brief on Women, Peace, and Security in Gulu City. This brief highlighted the ongoing challenges faced by women and children in post-conflict Northern Uganda, showcasing their resilience and the urgent need for gender-sensitive recovery programs.

The report emphasized the importance of amplifying women’s voices in peacebuilding and decision-making, particularly in a region still grappling with the aftermath of the Lord’s Resistance Army (LRA) insurgency. Through my communication support, I helped amplify critical messages on gender equality, justice, and recovery, focusing on the immediate needs of women affected by sexual and gender-based violence (SGBV) and the pressing need for legal support, livelihood opportunities, and mental health services for survivors.

This experience reaffirmed my commitment to using strategic communication to drive social change and advocate for more inclusive, sustainable solutions. A special thank you to Andrew Onapito, Communications Officer, and Ritah Nanyonga, Coordinator of the Women, Peace, and Security Project at ActionAid International Uganda, for trusting me with this responsibility. I truly appreciate the opportunity to contribute to this important cause, and I am looking forward to more collaborations in the future.

If you are looking for a strategic communicator to support your campaigns or advocacy efforts, I am here to help shape your messages for maximum impact. Get in touch to explore how we can collaborate and create meaningful change together. Together, we can empower voices, inspire action, and shape a more equitable future.
